Wow…where has the time gone?! Lydia and I are 38 weeks today. 💜
Time for a third trimester bumpdate before she arrives!
When are you due?
Feburary 8th 2019. She hasn’t shown any signs of wanting to come out yet and I was 2 weeks late so we’ll see if she takes after her mama!
How are you feeling?
I’m feeling great! Though my sleep is interrupted 2-5 times a night to pee or roll over, I still have plenty of energy (*cough* nesting *cough*). During the last week of December I started having A LOT of pain in my inner hip/groin to the point that it was interfering with my daily life. My OB referred me to a perinatal chiropractor that I started seeing at the beginning of January and it has been LIFE CHANGING. My neck and back feel better than they do pre-pregnancy. If you have a body and your insurance covers it, go to the chiropractor.
Speaking of nesting…how’s that going?
Nesting is SO. MUCH. FUN. I loved cleaning and organizing before I was pregnant but now it’s been kicked into overdrive! Our apartment has been nested for the most part so I’ve moved onto my old room at my parents house and helping my mom with the basement.
Favorite part about being pregnant?
That Lydia goes with me everywhere. I love having my little buddy with me all the time and feeling her move around.
Oh my gosh does my little girl love sweets. I’ve been trying to keep fruit and kombucha in the house to satisfy my sweet tooth without eating a lot of junk food. Other than the two pints of Ben & Jerry’s sitting in the freezer, I generally don’t buy a lot of sweets because if I don’t buy it we won’t eat it. I’ve also been getting margarita cravings so it looks like our first date post-baby will be to Chili’s so mama can get a Tropical Sunrise marg. YUM!
How’s Lydia doing?
At our 20 week ultrasound we found out Lydia has a velamentous cord insertion. That means her cord is only partially inserted into the placenta instead of halfway in. As a result, we’ve had more ultrasounds than usual to keep an eye on her blood flow, size, and heart rate. I’m happy to report she is thriving and passes every “test”!
She loves to party in the early afternoon and late evening. I have yet to see a distinct hand or foot but watching my stomach bounce around is hilarious. We got to see a 3-D image of her face and think she looks like both of us. 💜 Though I loved being able to see a sneak peek, it’s almost been harder waiting to see her outside the womb now that we kind of know what she looks like!
Aside from my hip pain (which was caused by a misaligned pelvis that my chiropractor is now in the process of realigning), the third trimester has been fun. I finally look pregnant, can feel her strong movements, and can make jokes about needing help doing normal things like getting up off the couch. We are so grateful that this pregnancy has been fairly easy and feel like we are going to burst with anticipation of seeing our daughter face to face.
Have you had a baby? What was your third trimester like?
